• The Portuguese People's Monarchist Party, known in Portugal as the Partido Popular Monárquico (PPM), is a political entity that advocates for the restoration of the monarchy as the form of government in Portugal. Established in the aftermath of the Carnation Revolution, which in 1974 ended decades of dictatorship and led to the establishment of a democratic republic, the PPM represents a unique strand of political thought in modern Portugal, which is predominantly republican.
